Amazon can be tricky sometimes. In earlier years, publishing standards for their Kindle ebooks were not quite so standardized as they are today. One can easily understand the company’s motivation in maintaining high standards — and consistency across their brand. Still, sometimes this can make things a bit challenging for small publishers like myself.
In this case, for some reason Amazon decided to pull my book because it had problems with the quality of a number of images I had in there. Resolution was not high enough. Turns out it was quite a few. What’s strange is that I thought I dealt with this problem quite some time ago and decided to pull all images and instead create a free gallery page specifically for that book and then link the book to those images. So I did that. Then, to my surprise, I found out that Amazon was still using my original copy which had the faulty images. Very strange. I honestly don’t know who made the mistake, me or them.
In any case, the ebook is now available here.
Inside the ebook, it links to a gallery page that contains all of its images. Where the picture had been place, a link to the proper image now exists. The entire gallery page is here:
I know it’s not a perfect solution but it works. In the meantime, I am going to get back in touch with Amazon customer service and figure out if there is a way I can get the images back into the book without them having a problem. I will keep you posted if I can make that happen.
In other news, the never-ending struggle to get a proper Audio Book version of the updated UFOs for the 21st Century Mind is NEARLY done. That has been another “thing,” but I do think we may see that appear this month. I will keep you posted on that as well!
