Area 51: Illusion vs. Reality

By | February 16, 2020

This is the video livestream (article version for members only is included in the previous post) on Area 51, which was the theme of Episode 3 of this season’s TV show, Project Blue Book. I like doing this series because it gives me the chance to give some historical perspective to what’s discussed in the shows. I don’t claim to have all the knowledge on Area 51, but I’ve given it more than my share of thought over the years and believe it’s a good idea to share some of that in this post.

I hope you enjoy.

    Another insightful post. Thanks!

A bit off topic, but you mentioned Bob Lazar. I know he was instrumental re Area 51 awareness, but he’s certainly lying about his degrees from MIT and Caltech. Although it’s plausible the gov’t could have erased his attendance records, as some have suggested, surely he would have hard copies of his degrees in his possession. Indeed, if he had earned degrees from those schools, not only would he have possession of them but he would probably have them neatly framed and on display. On the rare occurrence he somehow lost them, he would surely have a classmate and/or a professor or two who could back him up, but thus far nothing substantial. Again, he may be telling the truth regarding his UFO claims, but he is without a doubt lying about his education. Personally I’ve written him off and wonder why others in the field reference his name in serious conversation.

Re the Plato reference, nihil novi sub sole. Given the opportunity I suspect most people would still choose the blue pill.

    Cheers!

Do you know how much money those two institutions get from the military for advanced research? There is no one in the relevant departments there whose entire career isn’t dependent upon the good graces of their DoD minders – and hasn’t been, since before Lazar was even born. So, no, I don’t find it at all difficult to accept that they just “disappeared” his records. Hell, they’ve disappeared whole people over this; a few paper files and 1970 -era computer records would be a piece of cake.

I sure wish I had a “Crystal Ball” that could show me what really happened at Area 51 when Gordon Novel was there. In Novel’s book he muses on his relationship with Bob Lazar at and around the time that George Knapp broke the Area 51 story. However, as with most of the things that Novel has said over the years, one has to study his words with a great deal of due diligence to find out what is “really being said”…while also paying close attention, to what is not being said (by Novel).

It would be an understatement to say that Novel has propagated more than his fair share of disinformation, misinformation and outright lies.

For those interested in reviewing Novel’s book where he talks about his relationship with Lazar, Area 51 and more, here’s the link: http://www.qoogles.com/files/Old-Gordon/SCS_Pub1_2-16-10.pdf
